Coaching and Mentoring

I act as both a coach and mentor to enable you to look at things differently and achieve the success you desire.

As a COACH

I typically offer help in areas such as:

  • Engaging better for instance when motivating the team, influencing colleagues, giving feedback.
  • Holding difficult conversations.
  • Avoiding personality clashes with work colleagues.
  • Raising self-belief.
  • Embracing change.

As a MENTOR

I offer guidance in areas such as:

  • Career progression, e.g. in seeking and preparing for new roles.
  • Supervisory skills development i.e. practical support in areas such as time management and handling meetings.

(These examples are in no way exhaustive).

As your coach and mentor, I work with you in a thought-provoking and creative process, helping you to get from where you are to where you want to be.  I listen as you explore your thoughts/feelings without passing judgment.

I reflect back, offer insight, and give constructive criticism as appropriate.  I ask searching questions and challenge you to reflect and consider new perspectives.  As your mentor, I offer impartial guidance.

In both capacities I aim to help you unlock your potential, grow in confidence and achieve the success at work you desire!

Whether online or face-to-face, I promise a safe, supportive space to foster mutual trust and respect.

Reaching that “light bulb” moment may take many incremental steps or involve a major breakthrough!

I may be just a thinking partner, sounding board, or take a more direct approach as a challenger or guide.

I appreciate diversity and subscribe to EMCC’s Code of Ethics.

Action Learning

As an action learning facilitator, I help set-members not only find solutions to their own issues but also participate in assisting others with their problems.

What is action learning?

Professor Reg Revans developed the underlying action learning theory during the 1970s-80s. His research led him to understand that people learn most effectively through “doing” in groups:

“Lasting behavioural change is more likely to follow the reinterpretation of past experiences than the acquisition of fresh knowledge” (Revans, 1998).
